A few months ago, I was asked by the publisher of Napa Valley Life Magazine to capture the cover photo and lead story images featuring the guys from The Ghost of Autumn Wine. I met with them one evening over a great dinner where we discussed some ideas. They mentioned wanting to tell a story of what it would be like to spend the day with them...except with much more debauchery. I loved the idea and came up with a storyboard of images that I wanted to create with a sort of NSYNC boy band vibe.
Back in February, we set aside an afternoon to get all the shots. I had scouted out locations and made a schedule based on where the sun was. It was a tight schedule, but I knew exactly the shots I needed to capture. Once we got the shots we needed, we moved on to the next location.
So. Much. Fun.
The guys were totally in to it, and I directed them the best I could. There were no second takes, since they didn't have multiple outfits to change in to. And there were lots of shots that didn't make it into the issue that I loved so I'm including them here...
