I've shot BottleRock every year since the first one in 2013. This year, I worked on the sponsorship team again. My job (and it actually is a job) is to make images for the sponsors showing all the pretty people using their products. It's not as easy as it reads, as I had about a dozen sponsors to photograph and very little time to come up with lots of mediocre images. I set up camp in the media room where I edit and deliver images throughout the day. All told, I took about 700 shots and delivered about 400...that's it!
As I'm walking by a performance, I might jump on stage for a couple of quick shots before resuming my job. The only band that I made a point of photographing (and it was only for the first song) was for Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. My favorite band of the festival was Chevy Metal. I wish I could have stuck around longer for that set.
And my annual photoshoot with Erin Sanders happened on Saturday night. She comes to the festival every year, and I carve out a few minutes to get some images of her amongst the crowd.
