The eighth annual Napa Valley Film Festival just wrapped. It was seven days of films, movie stars, wine, parties, beer, food, and fun. It's easily one of my favorite events to photograph each year. Each day was about 12 hours long, and all images were delivered within a couple of hours of the events ending. I'd bring my MacBook Pro with me to edit and upload the images as soon as I could find a spot to sit down and get some wifi.
I've been photographing the NVFF since the first year, and this year marks what is possibly the last Film Festival as we know it. Changes are coming next year. New name. New ownership. The original founders might be launching another festival. It's all up in the air, and I'm certainly not in the know. I'm sad to see version 1.0 end, but I'm also looking forward to version 2.0.
I not only photographed the event, but I also did all the editorial images in the guidebook. Plus, the image on the movie screens welcoming theatergoers was mine.
