A couple of weeks ago, I was hired to photograph the 2013 Joseph Phelps Insignia wine. This is an especially important year, as it's the 40th vintage of this flagship wine. And when I type "flagship" wine, I mean it's about $250 a bottle.
I didn't get a chance to actually taste it, however, since they're only now bottling it for a September release. The bottles they gave me were filled with some sort of green liquid and labels applied by hand.
Here's a little sneak peek:
We are bottling 2013 Insignia! To celebrate the 40th vintage of our flagship wine, a special commemorative logo will appear on the label, paying homage to the original 1974 Insignia label design. We look forward to releasing 2013 Insignia on September 1, 2016. 📸 Bob McClenahan @bobmc #insignia #insignia40 #josephphelps #napavalley #cabsauv #ournapa
